There are a few noticeable changes at this year’s Manning Centre Networking Conference. From the “digital” point of view, there are eight relevant sessions this year over last year’s one. But that’s still to come. The kickoff also had a change. Manning Centre Director of Communications Dave Quist usually asks people to turn off their mobile phones in his opening housekeeping items. This year he took a different approach.

This is usually the time that I ask you to make sure you turn your phone off so you don’t disturb anyone else. We’re going to do something different. I’d like you to take out your smartphone right now, I’d like you to stand up and take a picture and send it out on Twitter, on Facebook, on LinkedIn, on your favourite social media ‘thing’ right now. I’m going to do it with you.
