@VikiLeaks30 Twitter account shutting down

According to some tweets published a few minutes, the Twitter account @VikiLeak30 is shutting down for good (see image below). [UPDATE 10:01pm: The account has been removed from Twitter]

The account gained notoriety throughout the week for its prolific publication of scandalous details of Vic Toews’ personal and political life as available in public documents. It fell silent after an Ottawa Citizen report earlier today and was the subject of many subsequent media reports (including this CP piece in which I was quoted).

Note the tweets in the following screen capture appear in reverse chronological order.

UPDATE: The following is a quote from the aforementioned CP article which encapsulates my thoughts on the @VikiLeaks30 account.

Blevis suggested that while Vikileaks may be embarrassing to Toews, another simultaneous online campaign being run might be making a better protest about the bill.

In the last 24 hours, over 24,000 messages have been posted to Twitter using an identifier of #tellviceverything.

Users are mockingly pre-empting the supposed need for the bill by just telling Toews what they’re doing.

I find #TellVicEverything is a far more effective campaign because it’s simple, creative, productive, humourous and delivers a message without attempting to destroy someone. It inspires creativity rather than incite hatred.
