It’s been over two years since the #IdleNoMore movement dominated national and even international headlines. Roundance flashmobs promoted over and energized by social media made way for blockades, and, seemingly as quickly as it entered the public conscious, the movement quietly went away. Or did it?
Dr. Ken Coates, has a long, compound title which includes being a professor and the author of a new book called #IdleNoMore and the Remaking of Canada. It’s a fascinating read about the origins of the movement and its impact on Canada. It also features research by my company, Full Duplex.
On this edition of digital public affairs, excerpts from a breakfast chat I had with Dr. Coates during a visit he made to Ottawa in March 2015.
