Today, December 1, 2010 is the great Canadian National Day of Podcasting — an excuse for Canadian podcasters to shake the dust off their long dormant podcasts for a single day reunion of sorts. Participation rates so far have been great. You can follow which shows have joined the event by following the comments on the Canadian Podcast Buffet CNDOP post. If you participate, be sure to add your own show to the list.

The event is pretty simple and there’s still time to participate today if you’re just learning about this now. Here were the guiding principles :

  • Put out a show! Dormant? Retired? Doesn’t matter – Do it!
  • Don’t invent or reinvent anything. Just do a show like you used to.
  • Reach out to ‘old’ producers. Spread the word.
  • Don’t have a site anymore? Send the audio to – we’ll host it!

I’ve published a fresh episode of Electric Sky; an interview with Neil and Jeff of the Arrested Development Documentary Project. Also, Andrea and I published a new episode of Just One More Book in which we discuss books we’ve read during the show’s 14-month hiatus.

Keep your earbuds on, this is going to be fun!
